  • Interdisciplinarity: West and radio, film, journalism, and performance
  • European perspectives from Italy, Germany, Russia and Belgrade
  • Historical evaluations of West’s literary community including Max Beerbohm,
  • Elizabeth Bowen, Storm Jameson, Time & Tide, Stanislav Vinaver and Virginia Woolf
  • Postgraduate papers: welcoming a new generation of West critics
  • Issues of guilt, faith, politics, sovereignty and fiction
  • West’s challenge to our notions of Modernism and Feminism
  • New reports from the archives

Conferences are held bi-annually in early September. The society will sponsor special sessions at the MLA conference when possible.
